every once in a while I want to complain again about the ratio of people cooing that fat characters & designs are cute/adorable/big squishy teddy bears/gives good hugs/what a sweetheart vs people being able to admit that fat characters are also sexy. and how that compares with the way people talk about thin characters being cute vs hot. but I don't really have anything more insightful to say besides pointing it out and being annoyed so it never feels worth the time to dig into it ig
#x: axel talks#I will say I've seen more thirst over fat chars/designs/etc in recent times than I used to#so maybe it's getting better slowly. overall#but I still notice a difference.#obligatory mention that sexiness is not a measure of worthiness and bodies don't need to be deemed attractive to have value#it's not a one-sided conversation. there is more value to a character than their potential sexiness no matter what their body type is#but also it would be good to recognize when fatphobia is skewing the way fandom treats characters of different body types overall#and when fandom tends to be thirsty on average then it's easier to see how differently it treats the attractiveness of fat characters yknow
